I would’ve watched more of it due to the bizarre subject matter, if its production values weren’t so apocalyptically low.

Here’s a fun and loosely relevant fact, though. Jamie Vickers, an American animator, was working for MadHouse at the time. He did the ending animation for the show, and some of his other work is along those lines (like, urban/hiphop comic art)

Imagine if you had crazy Japanese Yakuza running around South Central, it’d be similarly ridiculous. It’s kind of like Saints Row done wrong.

The only good animes about black people living in Japan are usually the sports animes where the black dudes are just regular guys in Japan (albeit athletically gifted) and aren’t particularly portrayed as being innately criminal.

About the show itself: awful animation and a ridiculous story, but great background work and a surprisingly good soundtrack by renowned japanese DJ Muro.

Looks like good material for a film franchise.
