I think Neppu Kairiku Bushilord also deserves mention. Gainax was set to produce a TV series, directed by Hiroyuki Yamaga, but the project fell through after author Sunao Yoshida passed away.

The mecha-head in me wants to talk about MEGARO-ZAMAC, an Artmic concept that oddly made it to market as a set of IMAI model kits and other products, but not as an actual anime TV series. It would have fit between MOSPEADA and GALVION in the timeframe had it been picked up.
