It also helps that Blade Runner is a legit (production-heavy) sci-fi not a Star Wars derivative. I’ve been waiting for him to do a sci-fi for a long time. Sequels/prequels his early work (Alien, Blade Runner) aren’t the way I’d ideally like to see that happen, but at least it’s happening after years of him announcing sci-fi projects that never materialize.

It’s not Robin Hood 2 or otherwise Yet Another Ridley Scott Film Epic, so I’m excited a sci-fi or two will be his next big budget project(s).
